Meet the Designer

Hi, I’m Kinsey — interior designer and founder of Dear Winnie.

I grew up in Portland with an interior designer as a mom and a love for transforming spaces that started young. I was always rearranging my room, begging to repaint, organizing friends' spaces, and obsessing over bedding, art, and furniture placement. One could say I was a bit… odd. I like to think of it as an early design superpower!

That creative spark never went away — it just took a winding path to get here.

After earning my degree in advertising from the University of Oregon, I spent time exploring a range of industries — from events to yoga, bartending to medical assisting — even fishing in Alaska. But it wasn’t until a two-year chapter in healthcare that I realized what I was missing: creative autonomy and the joy of building something beautiful for someone else. That insight led me back to school at the Heritage School of Interior Design — and back to what I’ve always been meant to do.

  • My signature style is all about warmth, depth, and personality. I’m drawn to natural materials, rich textures, and details that give a space soul. I love mixing timeless pieces with a sense of play — a sculptural chair, a bold print, or a color you didn’t know you needed.

    My spaces are meant to be lived in, not just looked at. They’re designed to evolve, to hold your memories, and to make every day feel a little more intentional.

  • Design is personal — and so is my process. I bring curiosity, intention, and care to each phase of a project. Whether you’re working on a renovation, a new layout with renderings, or styling a single room, I collaborate closely with clients (and their teams) to ensure every space feels just right.

    With a background in both creative and technical fields, I approach each project with both vision and follow-through. I love the big picture — and the tiny details.
